First Vegas Trip=When do we go again?

I went this Friday night until Monday afternoon. First things first, movies and pictures don't do this place a bit of justice, it is absolutely HUGE. These hotels are massive and amazing. We stayed at the Flamingo on the 26th floor with a view of the BEllagio fountains and Caesar's. First night consisted of walking up and down the strip and getting drunk. Decided to play at O'sheas after about four hours of drinking which pry wasn't the best idea but it was a party atmosphere which is what I was going fr so I had fun.

Slept for like 2 hours and woke up to play the 65 buy in at the flamingo at 10AM. Seemed to be a few locals but no one played terribly impressive. Got down to final three and convinced everyone to chop. 370 each. First tourney, first victory! After that I hang out at the pool all day, great weather, drink, nap, poker at 6. Nothing exciting happened at that tourney, out second at final table. Went to the Spearmint Rhino that night which was ridiculous, highly recommend it to all AVP guys.

Sunday comes.....time for another Flamingo 10am. HAd a few good hands right away which allowed me to dictate play the rest of the way. Get down to final 3 again and everyone agrees to chop 200 each and winner gets final 150, which I like that idea a lot, especially when I won. I wanted to play a nice room and the 3pm at Caesar's seemed like a good idea. This was a bigger turnout with about 65 or 70 entrants I think. Room was top notch for sure. Blinds and antes crept up on me and I finally had to push with A10. Caller with K6 flops K66, well see ya later! Out in 13th.

Overall the trip made me feel confident in my poker abilities, especially since I have only played since December. I cannot wait to go back and do it all over again! I won a little over 700 total, so my trip was more or less paid for so all is well.

I was going to say something similar but didn't want to look like I was hatin'.....it is sooooooo true though that you do ok your first tourney go -round in Vegas......unless you are doing a larger buy-in/better players tourney.....see Venetian, etc.....

    Isn't that the truth!!

But we love coming back and chasing that rush!!

  4. Yeah a few people said that to me. My response was "poker is a skill game"......I would hope most of you agree. However the Caesar's Palace tourney certainly had people that were clearly better and I still fared well. No matter what happened I would def want return to the most magical place on Earth!

  5. Nice to hear you enjoyed Vegas. Now you have been infected with the "bug" like the rest of us degenerate gamblers - lol.

  6. Reminds me of my first trip in '93. This was pre-poker for me, and I distinctly remember being up $17 the first day after playing blackjack and video poker and thinking this was going to be eeeeeeasy!

Glad you had a successful and fun trip. Keep running good! Unless, of course, I'm at the table with you.

  7. Good Job!!!!!!!!!
