Man this trip was awesome I loved it.

Buddies came over at 7:15am sharp and we all jumped into the truck with my kids and Mrs GWS. A short trip to Ohare and we were rollin. My buddy forgot his ipod nano in his pocket, its so small he forgot about it so we gave him a bunch of grief for holding up the line and almost getting a body cavity search by the gov agents.

Me and my 3 buddies were anxiously awaiting the plane’s arrival. She arrived and we were a little late in takeoff. I didn’t know why until after. I sat next to Kev and Joe and Chris were 10 rows back. After the flight we asked what was going on back there. They said some lady with a middle seat wanted to sit on the aisle and refused to move. WHAT??? In this day and age who wants to make a fuss on a plane? Jeez lady move your ass to your own seat. This big Toby Keith looking guy had the aisle seat but the lady wouldn’t move. The flight was 100% full and the lady finally moved.

I would have loved to see her get her dumbass dragged off the plane by her feet.

But anyhoo, we watched 40 yo virgin on the way out, my buddy has never seen it, damm that movie is funny.

The guy next to me was really having a good flight.

He was a cool guy who was coming to a meeting where they were all guaranteed 10-100k as a bonus for being the top sales guys. They were having a contest so he was going home with a nice chunk of change.

MMM the airport, man I love seeing that place when you get to the airport.

So I went runnin for the excel poker room as I wanted to try it out and see if the whole electronic thing is good or bad.

So I sit down and get ready to roll. I moved over after a couple hands and sat next to Melody, she was a cutie.

It shows your name on the screen it’s pretty cool. As you can see Melody has me crushed in money. I bought in for $60. Its also cool you can change your name, later you will see I changed my name to White Sox.

It’s a really good poker area, you can see the sports book and the big tv’s real well. They have some flat screens in the poker area also. They have really cool football promotions also, raffles after every touchdown and fg and every quarter it was fun.

As you can see I bought in for $60 and in my 2nd session got it all the way to $200.

I really loved this room, the action is so fast and easy pickens. I had 5 sessions there. 3 were profitable and the 2 that I lost was only a result of getting bad beats. I know bad beats happen its part of the game so you cant cry. I did give a couple bad beats so I knew I had a couple coming back, its all evens out.

1 really funny hand was my last hand right before we left. I sat down and recognized 7 of the 9 guys there from the previous days. I’ll tell ya about that hand later, it was good.

This next hand was with a guy who had changed his name to JOSIE WALES. Oh did I smoke him like a Marlboro with the power hand of 7 3

He got a bit pissed after this hand but I had limped for a buck in position, he only raised it 2 more dollars. Then after I flopped 4 to the straight he only bet $3 into a decent pot so I figured what the hell I’m gonna chase a bit. The beautiful 6 came on the turn and I slow rolled him on the turn and check raised him the river. He was a bit mad but I told him flat out “If you raise $5 pre flop Im gone, even in position” he shrugged his shoulders and nodded his head. He was ok, but then the next hand I got him again,.. hahahahacheck it out

I had qq and re raised all in, he called with kk … look at that lovely river!!! OH WAS HE PISSED AT ME!!!!! 2 hands in a row I out drew him, man that deck was loving me for a bit there.

I’m a bit out of order here, I wanted to highlight the excal as I spent the most time there.

Ok other things I did. Sahara, that was a good tourney even though I got a couple bad beats and ended up I dunno 22nd of 70 people.

Ok well I kind of forget the order that I did things so the rest is kind of a here’s what I did in Vegas type of report.

Not the flush I was lookin for here that’s for damn sure. It was on 50 play and it dealt me 3 to the royal.

Can’t believe I didn’t buy this shirt.

City center is f’in MASSIVE!!!! OH MY GOD it is going to be huge. Those buildings in the back are really big, it’s unreal to think of how big it’s going to be.

Of course the jockey club is getting a ream job.

The Luxor pool was nice I went a couple times, man it was so nice just chillin there.

So of course I went to the greatest poker table in the world O’Sheas!!

IN the past I always did well there but boy Oh boy did I get my ass kicked there. I mean bad. I cant tell you how many times I had the best hand on the flop only to get drawn out the turn or river. It was train wreck bad, I hate limit poker!! The difference is in no limit you can make a big bet to get everyone away from chasing but in limit you bet $5 and 3 people call chasing a straight or flush or whatever. Man it was bad. I planned on being there all night and only made it like 3-4 hours at most before I had to leave. Playing 1-5 limit poker I managed to lose $150 in what felt like 2 seconds.

I still love the atmosphere but that’s 2 trips where o sheas killed me. Someone said Bill’s next door has a table by the door where its NL which is better for me.

Was funny at 1 point the guy next to me who was tipping a buck after every win forgot to tip. I kind of whispered to him “don’t forget the dealer” and he was like “oh did I forget, sorry bout that” and threw in a buck. Too funny he wins the next hand and forgets again so I just stare at him and he says “Dammit I forgot again, quit looking at me I just got a 1st grade flashback of mrs so and so” (I forget the name) and this dude was like 70 but he said me staring at him after he again forgot to tip was making him feel like a kid again. Hahahaha he was a really cool dude.

And of course you cant play poker at osheas without the normal drunken local crowd too. I recognized this 1 dude the second I sat down. Later in the day him and a guy are in a hand together and the board had a straight but I don’t think the other guy knew it. The local guy did but the tourist didn’t. So this guy next to the local guy who was NOT in the hand says “Wow a straight on board” then the local guy says “don’t talk about the hand” and gives him a push. I was like uh oh here we go, FIGHT!!. When the hand was over they exchanged some words but nuttin else, bummer.

A couple mins later they both apologized to each other and then were like best buds all of a sudden. Later in the night we kept joking trying to get them to start yelling at each other again.

Here’s my $5 sunglasses…I bought them on the way to O’sheas cuz I forgot my glasses. When you play there during the day you need glasses cuz the sun just kills you there. The black dude workin the stand was hysterical. He was on his cell phone as I was looking saying things like “Yeah I try to but every time I get a little extra money in my pocket I can’t help but spend it on the ladies” He hung up to take my $5 and I said “that’s a tough call to make bud” and we both laughed.

Here’s my yummy breakfast 1 mornin….

Me and the fellas had Panda Express 1 night for dinner at the food court by MGM.
I eat whatever is closest when I am in Vegas, I just eat to make my stomach stop barking, I don’t have a meal over $12 I don’t think.

Wife forgot to pack my small bottle of germ stuff so I stopped into CVS, was like a buck. The same bottle at a gift shop was like $7

So heading to excal for 1 last session I haven’t played 1 hand of live BJ or any craps. I say heck with it and buy in for $60 at the excal crap table right by the poker room. These 2 people are hitting good and I am up like $100 at 1 point. I’m hoppin numbers, making some dealer bets for the house and having a blast. Didn’t hit any hops but did get a nice 10 hard for a point that was cool. The table went cold but I still cashed out up $40 from a good 30 mins at the crap table. I was up from the get go so that was fun.

Ok so this leads me to my last hand. I had about 90 mins left so I went to excal with a $50. Planning to either get to $150 and walk or 0 and walk. I sit down and I know 6 or 7 of the guys from previous sessions. I announce “Guys I got about an hour to give you this $50” we all laugh and start play.

2nd hand I get 10 J and I am in a late position as the button just passed so I limp in for a buck. About 5 callers. Flop is 7 8 9 with 2 diamonds. I figure what the hell. I go all in for $49 and get 2 callers!!! YIPPEE!!!!

1 guy has ace 5 of diamonds so he is chasing the nut flush, the other guy flopped 2 pair. I got them both covered with my straight and am hoping the deck triples me up and I swear after 2 hands I am walking!!! Swear I would have!!

The turn is a diamond giving the guy the flush and the river hit the boat for the other guy!! HA HA HA HA HA!!! I flopped the nuts at the time, and ended up 3rd place in the hand!!! We all laughed and I said bye to all the guys I had met and even a couple at some other tables and went back to lux and hung out at the pool for about an hour.

I could have bought in again as I did good in the trip. The entire trip incl food I only spent like $350 I still had 3 or 4 hundred left but I took that last hand as a sign to just go chill at the pool. Airfare was like $300 but my room is free as I sleep on the couch in my buddys suite. I buy him beers and meals when we eat away from the hotel as a thank you.

So all in all the trip was of course awesome!!!

I still love osheas but it just kicked my ass this trip.

The poker room at excal is like an ATM if you play right, I will be back there for SURE!!! Had it not been for some bad beats or the deck bailing people out, every session would have been a positive one there, love it.

I am a low roller so turning $60 into $120 in poker was awesome! My whole budget for 4 days is $700 so I have to look for bargains. hence O'sheas, Excal, etc.....
