Imagine poker without badbeats?
Went to Vegas a month ago, tried NL Holdem for the first time at Harrahs. UP $200 in 3 hrs. Not bad.
Went back in 1 week with promo at Wynn's hotel for $180/night. Awsome hotel! Floor to ceiling window, 30 inch LCD TV, comfy bed, big bathroom with all the usual luxurious stuff. They even made our bed when we went down for expensive $35 buffet dinner. Tried $1/$3 NL at new table. A few of young people were friends. Played quite loose, most bought in for $200-$300, and rebuy like no tomorrow. I just played tight and see if I could pick them off. But my AQ all in lost to A3. Lost my $100 and lost my appetite for the game.
Next day, went to Caesar's to play the highly praised $130 tourney. Started at 12pm, you will need a player's card but you can get 1 at the poker room. $80 for 1500 chips, $50 rebuys up to the second lvl gets you 3000 chips. So, $130 for 4500 chips. 45 mins blind is just awsome, $25/50, $50/100, $100/200 + 25 ante, $200/400 + 50 ante, $400/800 + 100 ante, then I lost. It's a little hard to beat the tourny when all-ins AK lost to AJ, AK lost to A3, KK lost to QJ. I just couldn't win!
All in all, great tourny at Caesar's. Try it, u will like it! I just wish I didn't have 3 bad beats in 1 tourny. $130 lasted me 3 hrs of fun (or torture).
