Not going to go into much detail but generally our trip went great. checked into The Mirage and as said before, renovated rooms, v nice. Fisrt night played in the Wynns 7pm tourney. Probably in hindsught a bad idea as we had been up for nearly 40 hours at this stage between prep, travel from Ireland etc. Lasted a few hours and think exited in about 18th place from 45 odd runners.
On way back to hotel registered for the V's final $330 DSE the next day. Met up with Dcarp at the V, as nice a fella in person as on this site may I add. Sorted us out with some DSE gear, thanks Dan. Well the long and the short of it, 452 entries that day and bubble broke at place 45, was still sitting pretty with 29 to go at about 220k in chips. Was really thinking I could make a run at it when I was dealt pocket 7's in SB. There had been 2 callers previous so just smooth called and BB checked optins also. Flop came down 9x7x3x, happy days..... checked to me, put in small enough bet, fold fold and then a re-raise. Checked my set again and re-popped it 4x. Villian tanked for a while and then popped it again. This was my moment, its was either make or break. Win this pot and I was in a great position to drive on to final table. Pushed all in and my hopefull thoughts were wiped away with an immediate call by villian. He flipped over 99 for top set against my middle set.......sick, Board bricked out and that was me out of DSE, but cashed anyhow..

Played in Caesers over next few days and enjoyed it immensly, great room IMO.

Then travelled downtown for a days playing and entered the Binions afternoon tourney $80 ?? Low and behold I walked away from that with a 1st place :-) It wasn't an immense win, actually less than my 29th finish in the DSE but nevertheless a win and I also got a prized "I won a NLHE tourney at Binions" Tee-shirt which I can wear with pride.
Played some 1/2 NL during the week, mainly at the Mirage where we were based. Probably even over the week there at that as took a major beat early on when some idiot called a pf raise with 75os and hit 2 pair on flop!!!! I was sitting on Q's and lost a bit in that hand.
Anyway, having withdrawl symptoms akready and msut start planning our next trip. Not sure when that will be but thinking ablot it will keep me going in the meantime....
