Bought in for $200, and had worked it up to about $350 without too many dips....look down at 7, 8 off suit in the BB. Small blind pops to $7, since I'm already in for $2, decide why not. 2-3 callers behind me.

Flop comes K78 rainbow. Small blind (original raiser) makes a pot size bet of $30. I pop to $60. One gal behind me thinks about it and makes the call. The small blind then pushes all in. I know he doesn't have a set or he would have smooth called....i push all in...the gal who is still in the hand thinks for a few minutes....that's when I knew i had her...she eventually makes the call and goes all in....We all flip and small blind flips over AA, I show my two pair (which hold up), and the girl shows AK for TPTK....I drag a nice $1000+ pot!

These are the hands that make your entire trip!!

  1. I am heading to vegas July 29th and am staying at Bally's. You have any suggestions on where to play. (best room or rooms with the most fish?) Anything a poker player must experience while down there?

  2. In my experience, MGM is THE place to play, as long as you're selective and change tables as needed. There are some good players there, but you can almost always find some folks who really don't know how to play or how to stop drinking.

As for what every poker player should experience at some point:
O'Shea's Casino! Wait until the sun goes down and buy in for one of the cash games (tourney's go in the back). The have 1-5 spread for fun or 1/3 NL. The tables are RIGHT by the door and make sure you get a seat facing the strip. Best people watching in Vegas for a poker player. The dealers are really friendly and the players are very much of the "Is this poker like they play on Tee-Vee?" variety. MUST DO.

p.s. - try to scoop a grand in a 1/2 game, while you're at it. :scream:
