RETURN TO HOPE

Usually I am solo on my quarterly jaunt to LV. This time the wife joined me and it worked out well. I usually spend 2 days alone but we made this 3 dAYS and it worked perfectly. I spent as much time at the table as I would have without her and she was satisfied that we had dinner and a show. Bellagio is a great place to stay. They do most everything right. Exception is the very bad system for valet usage on entering the hotel. Not nearly enough valets or signs to the right place to go to. I stayed at the Bellagio most of the time. I am a limit player and my $4-8
game is getting harder to find. Bellagio, with it's slightly crowded $4-8 tables is the most comfortable for me. ASdditionally, Bellagio has the very best comps on the strip. I enjoyed myself with good dealers, mostly good company at the table and good cocktail service for 3 days, I came out almost precisely even; up or down $50.Couple of nice streaks, which is fun; couple of bad streaks, which is not. Two bad beats which I still dream about. Both of them were straights. The first on the flop to the Q, the second to the A on the turn. Both lost to a fh on the river with both of them raising and me re raising like I had an annuity. The last BB, after sitting at tyhe table for about an hour disclosed that he thought it was a no limit game and complained loudly. This right after the aforementioned BB. I tried M, about 10miles S of the strip and , as reported in the room review, was impressed with the room and hotel but card dead and left in less tahn an hour and $100. Played Wynn for the first time, also previously reported, and was very comfortable and pleased with the room, service, dealers and mgt. Saw Danny Gans , last time was about 15 years ago. He is still a stellar showman. A really great act to watch. Great trip for me. Breaking even is like winning $1500. I'll do it again in Oct. Didn't even try Venetian this trip. Unlike most on this board it feels cold to me.

  1. Sounds like a fun trip! Rough way to get run over by the boats on the big hands, not much else you can do but hope those guys donate it back with interest.

Are you getting comped for pit games and/or video poker/slots? If you're just talking poker only, I think worst comps among the Strip poker rooms is a tight race between Bellagio and Mirage.

Glad im not the only one here who feels this way.

I've felt that way about the V before, but it's warmed up a bit to me in the last few trips. The only thing I can't get over is the damn perfume smell. Hits hard and affects me for longer than others, it seems. Took me over an hour and a half to get used to it!

That perfume smell seemed stronger the past two trips. I love the V's poker room, but that dang smell is making me dread the first 45 minutes or so of any session.
