Cliff notes. Sahara 2-4 limit, uneventful but they serve newcastle, so thats a plus.

Venetian noon tourney on friday, has to be the best tourney for the price in town.

Cash games, drink selection, waitresses-all
kick a**!!!

Venetian poker room is very nice, everyone treats you like they should, as a money spender. That will keep me coming back for sure

Vegas from 1-24-8 evening until 1-27-08 afternoon.

Got in 1-24-08 about 6, just missed getting to the Sahara in time for their 7 pm tourney. Hit the buffet instead, very good for the price, get the players club card and its always half price.

went and played 2-4 for 7 hours, finished 3$ down but about 12 newcastles up. I will call that a profitable night. Not a very exciting table, lots of time 2-4 is nothing but splashing around, drinking having fun, not this one, but not bad. there is not any casinos close by to Atlanta, so anytime I get on a table, I am happy.

Got up around 9, buffet again, once again, pretty good selection, and a good crowd, so the food is turning over fast.

get over to the venetian via the monorail for the noon tourney. monorail is the way to go for sure, very easy to figure out. 9$ day pass pays for itself immediately as a taxi in any one direction is more than that.

Venetian 150$ buy in, 7500 chips 30 minute blinds, absolutely awesome structure, I dont think there were any bad jumps in the blinds at all.

You need to get there a bit early if you dont have a venetian card because you have to have one to register and you need to beat the line that comes right before noon.

Had a blast playing, ended up at a table with a buddy I hadnt seen in a year and a half, small world.

Played ok, managed to double up early with a flopped nut flush, checked it to the preflop raiser, he bets, another guy calls, I call, turn completes the bottom end, I bet out, he raises, other guy folds, I take a minute and go all in with a massive overraise hoping he has some part of the straight and cant make a laydown. calls, doubles me up.

really started playing like crap after the break, probably due to the massage i got through the break and into the 4th level. hard to concentrate, but i needed it.

anyways, ran AK into AA and got chopped down, dealt a few bad beats on people, got back up, then ran 99 into 1010 and it was all she wrote.

moved to 4-8 limit. great action there. started the drinking session as well. saw a huge pot(for 4-8) with kings full vs jacks full x A high flush. glad the old dude won it, he had been calling stationing off his chip and then he went on a rush and left. smart guy.

good looking blonde at the other end of the table as well, but she didnt stay long.

two guys from minnesota sat on my right and left and one looked exactly like one of the dealers at the venetian so i started flipping him sh*t about trying to pick off the drunk tourists(me) and he looked at me like i was nuts. i said come on man, you are a dealer, i know how it works. he started laughing and ordered jagerbombs, and I finally figured out it wasnt him.

Extremely good looking blond waitress with glasses comes by and I order another Stella and 3 more jagers and he asked her if her name was Stella. She kinda looked at me and said yeah, thats my name, he just asked if he could have me, and I said yes. then he realized that was my beer. Very quick on her feet, I am sure she is accustomed to dealing with loudmouth trash talking idiots. We fit the bill.

no big hands for me, just grinded a lot of small pots, finished up 210 (12 stellas, 4 jager bombs and 3 grey goose tonics-how can that not be a profit?) at 5 am. Exhausted and just happy to make it back to my room.

thats it for me.

  1. Good report, nice to see a fellow Stella-Artois Fan!!!

  2. LOVE the Stella!

  3. Cool report. I played in that same tournament on the same day at the Venetian. Wonder if we were ever at the same table...with that many tables going, it doubtful but just in case I was wearing a Michigan football jersey (dark blue with gold numbers) and a tan Chicago Bears hat.
