Solo trip day 3

Day 3 starts off a little later than the day before, which means I got a little more sleep. It was still to early to for any poker at the Mirage, so I play a little Not So Ugly Deuces and some Pai Gow at the Orleans. It was a decent start to the day. But now I am hungry.
I head to the Aria to redeem my other MyVegas comps, a pastry comp at the Patisserie and a lunch buffet. Breakfast of a muffin, coffee and banana, $.22. Nice. I decide I will leave the car here and I jump on the tram to Bellagio to see the conservatory. It is pretty cool. Then off to Mirage.
I don’t think we waited too long start a game. For the cast of characters, see TerrysPokertour post. Again, it was a fun group to play with. No notable hands came up. I just really have to hand it to the Mirage. I remember not liking this room a long time ago. However, this has been my favorite place to play for the last 5 or 6 years.
I got hungry after a few hours, so I walked back to Aria for the buffet. Wow. I highly recommend this one. The dim sum was my favorite. I really liked the ‘wheel of gelato’ in the desert area. However, for as much as I play at the Mirage, getting that buffet comped is better, as the quality is really close, but Mirage has a few more things.
I really wanted to get more O8 in, so I head to the Venetian. I really wish I didn’t. They couldn’t get a second game started and I was literally 1 minute from heading back to the Mirage when a seat opened up. Then they started a 2nd game. GRRRRRRRRR! If you remember how nice my first game was, this was the polar opposite. There were unpleasant people in most seats. One guy in seat 10 didn’t like how the dealer was splitting up a quartered pot, so he threw his chips all over. 5 minutes later, so he could make a bigger scene, he asks where $2 of it went. I was pleased that the floor took him aside, and then showed him the door. The lesson I learned from this trip is only play O8 on weekends.
After another fun time at the Mirage, I head outside to view the volcano and call it a night. The next morning I headed home. I got in about 30 hours of poker in 3 days and met some nice people. While I didn’t grow my bankroll, it wasn’t a great big loss either. I look forward to my next trip.
Thanks for reading.
