Some Low Limit fun at the TI
Our Annual Vegas trip took us this year to the fabulous (Don't Call me Treasure Island)TI Hotel and Casino for a weekend of buffets, craps and a little poker. Although the trip wasn't exactly a poker trip, it was still fun to get to play some live cards against actual people who aren't cheating, or bots online.
The TI room is cozy, and feels similar to the Monte Carlo room in overall size. The room is dark, but in a good way, with most of the focus being on the tables which is pretty nice. Another nice feature of the room was the presence of Las Vegas Michael in the room. He's a very nice guy, and if you ever get a chance to meet him, I'd highly recommend saying hello to him. Even better is if you get to play him in 2/4 limit while he's waiting for a NL seat, because he can be very generous :).
I won't get into any specific hands except to say that if you're playing 2/4, don't ever try to make a move. Ever. It'll be called every time, and you'll feel dumb turning over an 8/2 off.
The poker chips at the ti? Freaking beautiful. They have nice colors on them, and have dots on the edges. Fancy. I know it's a short trip report, but there's really nothing more to say than that everyone was right about the room, the dealers are very friendly (Hi Sabrinia), and well, it's just a fun room overall. No one is super serious, and everyone seems to be having a good time. Check it out already!
@big bad jon
I had a ball dropping $60 in like a half hour at your table. Fortunately, the NL game was good to me, and enabled me to make up the loss quickly. Thank you very much for the kind words, and it was a real pleasure to meet you and play alongside you for a few days!
This quotation is funny on a few levels. NH, Sabs. Well played.
