Landed in vegas and picked up our dollar rental then off 2 the Orleans got into the room floped onto the bed after a total of 23 hours from east coast England via london/minneapollis then vegas!have bin 2 the Orleans on the preveus 6 trips after trying various strip hotels and u cant beat it 4 room size/value + gr8 poker room.Awake at 6am even with 8hour time lag so straight down 2 the spar room/sauna etc the best way 2 wake up refreshed,now after unpacking me and Diamond Dave (DD) me (BW)Billywiz are off out 2 shop 4 my wife and 2x daughters presents that sorted its poker steak and cake 4 the next week !start off with a 1/2 nl game at the orleans but not much action due 2 the room being half shut 4 a refit down $15 then we drive 2 the mgm which is allways jumping,sit down $200 max buyin and float about with only 1 major hand win = full house over nut flush then get hit on the river 3 times whist infront on the flop each time by a rivered 9 !lets hope its not how the trip will progress i think 2 myself after about 3 hours i pack in $170 down DD= $60 up.Next day Thurs 8th wake up and see this big round glow and i realize its the sun which we dont often see in England also no wind=perfect!into Dodge Avenger drive 2 Boulder City = steak in Mells Dinner then onto lake mead 4 a jetski each only us + 3x boats on the glass top lake absolutly magig ride our skis 2 within 100 yards of the Hoover Dam all for $65 an hour = fuel sooooo goooood as we remember we are on just over $2 for £1 we just luv it ! After shower and shave its off 2 the Ceasers tourney at 7pm, $150 = 5k chips,75 runners plaed well and went out 2 another Brit who when i raised with K/10 on the button called in BB with AK,flop AK6 check check turn 10 he checks i push in and im gone but no complaints my stack played its self with the blinds/antis now geting large= 21st from 75.DD out 30th.back 2 the Oleans 4 the graveyard special of steak an eggs at $3.95 all ok.Friday 9th up at 7am into the spar then over 2 the Grand Lux Venetian Cafe=one of the best steak an cake brunch life is good for us boys we luv it !now 4 the noon Venetian deep stack $150 gets u 7500k chips with 158 runners happy with my game went out 24th but only 18 places paid so just another 6 hour poker lesson DD about 50th place= $470 down so far.Clean up then its dinner at Wyyn terrace point cafe fantastic and yes steak an cake !into the card room and buyin for $300 (no max here)at a 1/3 nl game real wild play as 2x Italians proceed 2 play every hand allin or raise with stuff like 44 against a flop of KJ8 for instance i have $840 in no time but just cannot hit the jackpot hand yet,then a $27 preflop raise is called by my 55 not normally but this was bingo poker ! and the board comes 579 rainbow Italian 1 bets $69 just a stack 2 him as the chips seem 2 have no money value Italian 2 calls so i see a turn= 10 Ita 1 bets allin 4 about $220 Ita 2 goes allin 4 about $170 i call river =3 they both turn ove J8 suited, whoops for me!chased the golden goose an d got caught out.anyway a while later this hand occurs player 1 2 and get a game going on the flop of 349 diamonds pl 1 = jq dia,pl 2 = k/10 dia, pl 3 = a5 dia result 1200 pot and the first time for me i have seen 3 players flop a flush together!i end night $140 up at Wynn.$330 minus for the trip now.Sat 10th nov cheesecake for lunch then i play the $550 noon deepstack at the venetian 10k chips 88 players a lot of whom tell me it is the best value tourney of the week in vegas due 2 blind levels etc and i must say i agree with them,i was very pleased with my overall game ann was siting next 2 a guy having some good humoured banter and after a while realise he is Brian King who was 21st in the 2005 main event 2 Joe Hachem + runner up 2 Dan Negraneau at Tunica WPT,so we give each other more banter until im moved again.play my way though 2 3tables with av stack and then get felted with AQ (i hate this hand)against A2 (but i was short stacked =an suited)flop 10-10-2 then 2-5 i know i allways say im gona fold that AQ ! followed by Mr Donkey limping with 10/J (im suited)early pos,table chip leader 70k limps behind low stack limps me on button AJ allin for 7400 more,Mr Donkey thinks and then calls my raise with 75% of his stack chip leader folds KQ low stack folds 89 suited and 10 flops and im gone thats poker God Help Me ! another 6 hour lesson !back 2 the Orleans chuck away $105 in tourney while tilting then a further $160 cash not a good days work but my own doing on tilt i learn more every time.$1145 down now.Sun 11th nov brunch at the Red Rock Resort Hotel/Casino great place/foodthen start up a new 1/2 nl table buyin for $200 max have a real social 4 hours and i leave with $550 and DD with $435 DD plays real solid and hits his first Straight Flush nice 1 mate !cant find the car lol and after 30 mins are told that there are 2 identical garages of course were in the wrong 1.now $795 down.Shower and change then dinner at Hard Rock then just chill out we both like this Hotel.Mon 12th nov up for more cake at the Grand Lux then noon $150 7500k chips 87 players played well all day and with 7 left on the final table get smashed by K4 button, AJ my small blind push allin + big blind calls with 66 of course a king hits and i am gone- but no i have 1 chip worth 5k left they now call a ten minute break,i come back with blinds at 8k and 16k with a 3k anti so i offer for everyone to chop and get a lol but no takers i wonder why ? my button chuck my anti in then my other 2k on the button and play against the blinds with 9/4 then flop 993 yesssssss lol i proceed to double the next 2 hands and now tell em all -well i did offer 2 chop which is now met by worried looks and nervous smiles !blinds reach 10/20k and the tourney director says it is the highest level ever reached i never once looked at the prize money payouts and ended up finishing 4th for $860 gave a $50 tip to the dealers and thoughrly enjoyed myself 9hours 30 mins of play! not my biggest win by a long way but one of my more memorable days !back to shower/change again then yep stek but no cake as were stuffed out then another highspot standing 2 watch The Frontier implode=magic,total for trip = $15 up ! great fun see u next year Wizzzzzz
