Thanksgiving Turkeys

Flew out of Lafayette, LA Thanksgiving morning and arrived on time about 1:30pm. We took cab to LV Hilton and checked in with a room upgrade to North Tower with access to "Resorts" lounge-Basically a place for continental breakfast and drinks/snacks. LV Hilton is a little worn around the edges in the public spaces, but our room was fine.

Wife and I took monorail to MGM where we first did the CSI Experiences (save your money-definitely -EV). While wife shopped before dinner, I played about an hour of 1-2 NLHE at MGM and cashed out up $205 after abusing one player who was playing way too loose. We had dinner in the Italian restaurant at MGM-very good braised shortrib. After dinner, I played another short session of 1-2 and ended up $85.

Next day, while wife got mani/pedi, I played 1-3 NLHE at Aria. Beatiful and very comfortable room as attested by others, overall better players than at MGM. Cashed out down $45. We had dinner at Vietnamese restaurant at TI (or was it Mirage?) before seeing Bill Cosby in TI theater. Vietnamese pork and noodles were OK--Bill Cosby was better. My wife is a big fan. I don't guess he'll be performing for too much longer, so I'm glad we saw him.

Saturday, I made it out to Wynn to play the noon $100 +20 tourney. I paid the biggest rake in Vegas by buying my wife an afternoon in the spa at LV Hilton while I played. There were 53 players, and I played pretty tight until final two tables. Play was weak as to be expected in these things. Finally finished 5th for $360. Did not beat the rake. It looks like the structure for the 1pm at Aria is better than this one, and I'll probably play at Aria next time.

Saturday night was steak night at Nero's in Caesar's. Excellent NY Strip for me and filet for wife. After that, we took in LOVE at Mirage. It was awesome, the best of the four Cirque shows that I've seen.

  1. HAHA, usually sending the wife to the spa is a +EV move in the long run. Love has been our favorite Cirque show as well.
    Nice report, thanks for sharing
