The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
The Good: IP Sunday night mixed game with AVPers AlaskaGal, Minton, mritz and pokermufin; 4 comped nights; Crazy 4 poker; Paris crepe; view from my Palms room; eating a Baja Fresh burrito for the first time since they closed all the locations by me
The Bad: Quality of my IP room which faced Carnaval Court; leaving my sweatshirt on the plane and subsequently freezing in many rooms; under the weather much of the time with sore neck, sore throat and GI issues; traffic on and surrounding the strip due to holiday crowds and construction
The Ugly: The cards. KK lost when an ace flopped but I didn't lay them down and had to face the shameful head shaking of LVM. KQ lost every time, including to Q8. First to bust out of two tournaments and bubbled one to a guy who was playing his first tournament on his first trip to Vegas. Hit record of seeing 8 2 in the hole. Had only 2 winning sessions and lost more money on this trip than on my 9-day one in June. Sigh.
Still love Vegas though.
Interesting report. Sorry you didn't feel better and win more. What did you think of the Palms? I've never stepped foot in the place. How big a pain is it to stay there vs. on the strip?
Palms was very nice. I like the wood floors in the casino and modern vibe. The hotel room was very nice and the poker room was OK. I only stayed there one night, but if you have a car it's really not far at all from the Flamingo/Strip intersection.
Thanks for the feedback. My wife is staying at the Palms 12/5-9 and asked me if I wanted to go then (technically, I'm not supposed to be there while she is working one of her trips but in Vegas it is easy to go unnoticed....) or go early/late. I'm not sure if I can get away from work then but I'm thinking about it.
