vegas can be tough
Got to vegas thursday morning about 8 am and went to the monte carlo where i was staying. Immediatley checked out the poker room in the monte carlo and it seemed decent. will get to that later.
Went across the street to the MGM to check out the room there. Placed my sucker bets on Tennessee and Michigan State. I also got Boston College at -8. It took them 2 overtimes to cover. That was crazy.... ok back to poker.
Mgm's room is sweet. Sat down to play some 3-6 and posted right away. First hand. KK. flop was K 4 7. Some idiots bet into me big time was no flush available. turn and river were blanks. took a good pot. ended the session up about 100 in a few hours.
Later after the hoosiers made a huge comback to cover 2 for me, headed up to caesar's room. Great room, it's brand new and perfect. I didn't like the atmosphere as much though. Lot of player at my table weren't friendly. I was up big time in the 3-6 game (about 150) and kept drinking to lose most of that profit. It was ok though. I did see a waitress at casears almost spill a tray of drinks on some guy when it was her fault and almost blame it on him. She was about 65, and very rude.
Ok so after ended the first day up a little bit, woke up and headed down to the Monte Carlo room and only 2 tables were going. 2-4 and 1-2 NL. Had to meet someone for breakfast in an hour so I decided to check out the 2-4 game. That is an annoying game. It truely is Bingo. Some guy would not fold and rivered us on 6 STRIGHT hands. Nothing you can do there. Left down just a bit and headed over to MGM to try there 1-2 NL
Sat down and took a few beatings. flopped trips and my all in reraise was called by a girl on an inside draw. guess where she hit it...., the river. Down about 100 for the session. It's tough to get beat like that so much....
Headed over to the Aladdin/Planet Hollywood and tried some 1-2 NL there. lolst 100 quick when I completly misread the board. won it back with my second 100. ended up cashing out down about 50 for that session.
Later that night played more 3-6 at MGM. started at 100 and got up to about 240. Then I kept on drinking. I drank a lot. gin on the rocks+poker=an easy way to lose money. cahsed out with 50 bucks when i could barely see straight.
Next day headed down to binions. started with 100, but some girl hit a 2 outer all in on the river to steal my first 100. bought anotehr 100 and made a few great bluffs on these old timers who told me i was too young (i'm 23) and got them to fold after they talked all this garbage about them having perfect reads and how they have been playing 50 years. those bluffs made my trip all the way down there worthwhile. cashed out up about 300.
If video poker and basketball did not exist I would have left vegas with a lot of money. But they do, and i didn't.......
