Week In Vegas
Spent most of my days at the Mandalay Bay poker room mainly due to the reviews that were posted here. Never had to wait for a table. Dealers were good and the same locals played each of the three days I was there so it was pretty easy getting to know them. All of the dealers were solid. Only one dispute over the week there when a player failed to protect his hand and got mixed in the muck. The dealer allowed the floor to come over and affirm the mucked cards with the player out of the hand and allowed him to stay in the pot. This upset some of the regulars but in my opinion the floor was quick and made a solid decision and the game continued. Played TAG and ended up about $500. No great but a fun time.
Went to Southpoint due to fact I was staying next door at the timeshare. Room was dead in the daytime and filled at night. Most of the table were locals who were friendly with each other asking each other question like were 2 pair good and showing cards to each other. Table captain bumped up a pot to $20 and I called it with QJs. Flop came QJ6 rainbow which I bet $5 and was raised to $40 by the aggressive player. I pushed all in and he called with trip 6s. Lost $250+ on that hand alone but what can you do?
