Its once again time for my annual pilgrimage to the WSOP. This year, I intend to play one event to get my feet wet and finally see how my game has progressed.

I landed in Vegas at 6:00 PM on Sunday, 6/17/07, and for the first time ever, actually rented a car since Monday I will be driving to Anaheim for a convention. A brand new Ford Mustang convertable with sat radio and 200 miles - a great start to the trip! Once the stuff was secured in the room, I ventured to the Rio convention center to get my bearings. While its generally the same, I didn't see all of the online sites giving away stuff & the Single Table Satellite (STT) area was relocated and VASTLY improved. Last year the line was 60-70 deep and it took forever to get a game started. This year, they offer tables based upon interest and you pay prior to sitting down. Thus, I was playing within 5-10 minutes from getting my seat card. I played a $125 STT and ended up chopping for a $500 toke. No real hands of interest, just positional play plus hitting a few flops hard & being bet into.

I took my toke plus a good chunk of my bankroll and entered Event 35 - a $1,500 NL event this Thursday. Hopefully I'll have an interesting story to share later this week!

Fear the donkey & GL me!

good luck on the tournament, let us know how it goes.

  2. Thanks, I'm packing up right now in Anaheim and will drive in tomorrow. I honestly have no idea what to expect except a 2,000+ field, but I'm on vacation & want to "live the dream"

    I'll definitely post a follow-up.
