I play every year at WSOP since 2004. This is my 2009 trip recap

Thursday June 11th- leave Stockton on Allegiant and get to Vegas in about an hour. It then takes like another hour just to get my rental car. I head over to the Rio where I will be staying for the week in a comped room(yeah more money to play with). I unpack then head down to play a $175 sat for the Sunday $1500 horse. I end up winning the lammers for the tourney. These SNG's are so damn soft, I easily win by playing solid poker and dont get sucked out on! Afterwards I jump into a 5/10nl game at Rio and play about 3 hours of uneventful poker(make about $180 profit, go to bed early since I am playing golf on Friday at 6a

Friday June 12th- go out to Tuscany golf course to meet my best friend for a round of golf. I use rental clubs this trip because Allegiant wants $70 for golf clubs (SCREW YOU Allegiant). I did take my own shoes and glove for the trip. We both play well (me a 74 and him a 71). We end up getting a bite for lunch after then part ways since he has to work that day. I head back to the Rio to play more 5/10nl, not much to write about for poker action, I leave about 6p up $240 so I can go play the 7p Venetian nightly. I sign up and we end up with about 180 runners. I last for about 5 hours before a forced move with the last of my chips and nothing for my efforts...lol head for home(RIO)

Saturday June 13th- get up around 11:30a and head down to the pool for a couple hours relaxation before the AVP meet at 7p. I watch some golf in the room after pool. I head over to Ballys around 6:30p to register. Nice to meet the AVP'ers in person (Doug is a really nice guy and great that he started up this website). The AVP event was uneventful for me, I got ona nice role then peetered out in about 25th...oh well maybe next year! I decided to head back to the Rio for another round of 5/10nl...
Saturday night POKER at RIO recap...
Buy into a 5/10nl game for $1000, about an hour into play i get 10/10 and stay in for a raise that came for $40 with about 4 others...I flop a 10 with other low cards and lead out for $150 get an old guy who raises it to $400 the others fold and I just flat call since there was no scare cards out there, turn comes a blank and the guy goes all in for his last monies( total he had was like $900), I say call and he turns over pocket Q's...a Q comes on river & I pay him off the $1000 pot (say nice hand & rebuy in for another $1000)...I play well into the night and chip up to about $1800 when the big play happens...it is now about 8am Sunday when a Russian kid sits to my left and buys in for $1700. About an hour into play I call a $50 raise from the small blind with Qh-10h and the kid calls from the BB as well,there are 5 of us in the pot. The flop comes out 8,9,6 of hearts. I lead into the pot with a $200 bet, the kid calls and the others fold. K of clubs comes on the turn and I bet out $300 and the kid thinks a moment and raises it to $750. Action to me & I sit and look at him, taking a moment to think about the situation, I decide to just call his raise after about 3 minutes of 'thinking' since I still only had the 3rd nuts here. The river came a J of spades, i take a moment and check, he thinks a moment and announces all in...I look over at him, take a moment and say to the table 'this isnt life changing money for me so I call', he turns up J7 of hearts and I table Q10 of hearts for the nearly $3500 pot...SHIP IT! I am going to continue this under Sunday heading
Sunday June 14th- I keep playing after the huge hand above until around 2p when I tell the table I am going to take a nap before playing in the $1500 WSOP Horse event...UUGH I go to the room to take a nap and over sleep!!! I dont wake up till 8p DAMN IT I JUST OVERSLEPT for the event I really came to Vegas to play, what a knucklehead I am especially since I won a Sattelite into it. Oh well, i decide to head over to the Venetian to see about playing some cash game. Once I get there the lists are long, so I decide to play an $80 sng that paid out 2 winners ($300 lammer plus $40 cash), I get down to me & 2 others, we decide that the 2 winners will give the 3rd place the $80 cash to make it a break even...I call one of the guys all in with AJ-he has 10\10 and I get a J on the river to win! I decide to go register for the $330 Deepstack on Monday...I play some uneventful 2\5nl until about 2a before I go to bed.

Monday June 15th- wake up about 10:30a, get ready to head over to Venetian for the deepstack evet starting at 12p. They end up getting 819 runners!! wow what a turn out...didnthave many interesting hands but played well and played until about 1am before knocking out about 100th place (they were paying out 72 I believe), I play for 13 hours to win NOTHING but first place was like 76k. Go back to Rio to sleep

Tuesday June 16th- wake up about noon and go hang back at the pool for about 4 hours (all I can say is WOW about the women at the pool). I decide I have had enuf poker for now & decide to go play some craps for awhile. I buy in for $300 and get it up to around $700 by playing pass line with full odds on my numbers then a big time roll by me happens...I have been putting $10 on each roller on the fire bet...I end up rolling 5 points myself for a $2500 pay off on the fire bet!!! One more point rolled and they ship me 10K! I end up finding out that a lady had hit all 6 points the night before(they had paid out like 70k to the table in fire bets). I call the wife to let her know of the big score in poker and in dice, suffice it to say she was pleased and asked about her cut LOL...I decide to hang out at th bar for awhile then head back to the room since I was playing golf again with my friend at 6a

Wed June 17th- wake up and go to meet my friend at Tuscany for a round of golf, I end up shooting a 75 and he scores even par 72. We go over to the Pancake House in Green Valley Ranch for breakfast before he has to go to work. I love the food at that place and try to go every visit to Vegas. Once we split up, I decided to go over to the Palms to give them some action during the trip to keep up my promo status with them (free rooms and food credits). I buy $200 into a $5 min craps table(only 2 other guys are on it around noon), then the rapper Xhibit joins the table with all his bling on, he only buys in for $100 (I was expecting him to buy in huge LOL). I roll a couple times nice but this guy Eddie walks upo & joins the table and then goes on to roll for like 30 minutes, I chip up to $900 before I decide to call it a session after about 2 1/2 hours. i want to play some more poker! I decide I want to play the 7p at Venetian again. I get there and they have 220 people signed up, great. I play for about 5 hours, not able to chip up significantly and bust out. I jump into a 2/5nl game and lose about $200 before I decide I am done and head back to Rio.

Thursday June 18th- get up around 8a, pack up my stuff, head out to turn in my rental car and go to airport for flight home

Poker= +1500
Craps= +3000
had a great time meeting some AVP'ers and coming back home with a nice chunk of money!
