Matthew and Brian run a great game! There were a bunch of cool promotions (first six players before 9pm got an extra $20 in chips, free roll $100 Omaha hi low holler at 9), and the deal was fast and efficient. Incredible action although I'm told it was a particularly good night. But also it was a Thursday, so I'm sure Friday and Saturday get rockin too.
A few Montana things. There is a state wide mandate that the largest a pot can be is $800. So there is a $40 table minimum, but no table maximum, and while it is pretty much no limit, you do at times hit the pot max and betting stops and you just run it out. Or flip over your cards. Ask the dealer about the finer points. It is too involved to get in to here.
An oddity for this game in particular is that it is a single blind game of at least $2, but the blind can decide to change that to any amount up to the $800 pot max. And anybody can straddle for any amount as long as it fits normal straddle minimums. So one hand you will play $2 single blind, then the next hand you will be playing a 5/10 game, then a $20 single blind game, then back to $2. So that is a bit of a roller coaster, but great for action. At least it was that night.
Great game, they open the room at 8pm, rake is 10% capped at $5.
