When I first came across this casino, I was a bit skeptical.
Only because it was in the middle of no where. A small card room in the middle of the desert on the edge of Kern county. With the nearest card room being over an hour away, this seemed to be the spot for a local like myself.
I came in on a Saturday morning to find a table full at the 1-2 NL hold em table. There seems to always be one table (1-2NL) running. To my surprise it is a nicely kept establishment.
7 tables for cash games and about 4 to the right of the casino for tournaments.
Bad beat comps AAA55 beat by better wins a jackpot of at least $5,000 or more.
They usually have a blackjack table open, with a chance to get in on the Ultimate Texas Hold 'em and Baccarat.
They always have janitors cleaning and the ladies and gentlemen running the service for food and drinks are always on point. Something that I was hesitant to try was the food; thinking we are in the middle of the desert, how can there be good food? I couldn't have been more wrong.
The cooks there must have gone to Le Cordon Bleu, because every dish that I get is amazing. The beer is always ice cold, and they always have whatever game is playing on in the background. They have an indoor smoke room. Pretty interesting. Regardless, for those of you who just skimmed to the bottom:
The food is great at a low cost. Cheapest and best steak in town.
The service is amazing and friendly.
And the poker there is always good.
