New Fun Room

I was told that Ellis Island just started their poker room a month ago. Just two tables in the sports book. Easy to see all the games on the wall of TV's. Tables and chairs clean and new! Clean chips, too!!! Only reason I gave a four, because it's not a stand-alone, dedicated room.

I had fun with the group I played with. A tourist couple from Cali, where the wife played a solid game. Other players at the table seemed competent, but not overly aggro.

All three dealers that I encountered were skilled, professional and efficient. Got'em in and got'em out. Made good convverstation and no mistakes that I can remember during my four + hour session.

This has got to be one of the highlights of the Ellis Island Poker Room. There's a brewery on the premises, with at least four micro-brews available. Comped tasty micro-brew...awseome. My favorite was the Heff!

Danny, the room manager, enticed me into dropping by with a post on AVP offering a free sandwhich, or pizza slices to whoever dropped by and mentioned the post. He was friendly, gracious and professional.

Got a free sandwhich from the Boardhouse Sandwhich Shop, near the Poker Room, just for dropping by and mentioning AVP. I have no idea how long they'll do this, but my club sandwich was supprisingly good, borderline excellent. Add it all together with four free micro-brews, and I had an excellent time!!!
