Imagine going to Mcdonalds and paying 80$ for your bic mac combo. An absolute disgrace and slap in the face to the poker community here in Toronto who have been waiting 25 years for legalized poker. 10% max 20$ rake?????
99% of poker rooms in North America are running 10% 5$ max rake + promo.....20$ max in Toronto a 400% increase on the industry standard. Blatant robbery and really no shame. Simple mathematics illustrate that their goal is to take 200-300 million from the poker community each and every year. Thanks Ontario Government!!!
Unfortunately, the community here (largely uninformed) has already started to lobby for 15$ rake, as if this is acceptable....not the brightest of poker communities to say the least...most are accustomed to illegally run underground games with even higher rake...people dont understand the math.
DO NOT support Great Canadian as they have clearly demonstrated across Canada on all of their properties that they will only operate poker if they can ravage the poker community/economy. Just take a walk through their "multi billion dollar" casino and see how it was designed and constructed (paper mache) and that will tell you what this company is all about....see you all in Niagara, at least we have Mohegan an American company that understands the value of a proper poker room. Perhaps they move back from CN to Fallsview.....would be a great move.
