The poker room is located near the hotel parking garage. It's a long walk from the casino parking garage. Nice tables, and thick cushions on the chairs. The room has a high ceiling and no smoking. Dedicated restrooms in the poker room. Plays 8 handed for cash games. There is a sports book viewing area next to the poker room. A bowling alley down the hall with bar food. Three windows at the cashier's cage. Competent dealers and floor. The chips were nice and easy to handle.
Players at the $1/3 and $2/5 were a good mix of recs, nits, maniacs, and pro/grinders.
Complaint 1:
The rake is high. 10% up to $7 Plus $1 for Promo and $1 for bad beat jackpot. $9 max rake per hand is high for $1/3. But much less effect at $2/5 and up. The problem is there are no other poker rooms within hundreds of miles, so lack of competition invites this high rake.
Complaint 2:
The $1/3 buy-in could be higher at $400 or $500 max instead of $300 max. It's 100 Big Blinds, while the $2/5 is $1000 max at 200 Big Blinds.
Complaint 3:
You're not allowed to eat inside the poker room. They don't even let you put food in their container and bag on the handrail of the table. You have to eat it in the seating area above the bowling alley bar, or at the sports book area adjacent to the poker room.
