Drove all the way from Dallas to meet up with a buddy and play some cards. My friend doesn't know a thing about poker but just wanted to have a drink and watch some of the action. I asked the floor if it was cool if my buddy pulled up a chair behind me and watched and we got the all clear and perfectly fine as long as I didn't talk to him while I had cards. Plus I had to buy him a membership even though he wasn't playing and was just going to watch. Thought it was a bit strange I had to spend another $35 for him to just watch but I already drove almost 3 hours so I just ate it. First 30 minutes perfectly fine when I got a tap on the shoulder from a floor person and they had informed me that my buddy had to move or he was going to have to leave. I thought they were going to just scoot him over a bit but they moved him to a table that was empty and behind us in another row of tables so we couldn't even talk. Everyone at the table looked at the floor as if he was maybe making a joke but he was dead serious. After the floor left the table and dealer were really disgusted but the floor made it clear he was serious even after I told him that I had talked to another person working the floor and had gotten the all clear and everyone at the table said my buddy wasn't an issue and he was a joy to have at the table offering to buy anyone a drink since he wasn't playing and was just there to have a good time. After 5 minutes of attempting to talk with my buddy when he's a whole table over I just racked up my chips and left. The guy who came over to our table to move my buddy was very rude and I did speak to another manager who said that we did nothing wrong.
I was planning to come down for the meetup game but after this experience I will be sticking to Dallas poker instead. It's a @#$% shame because the room is nice and the players are very friendly
