This room has the potential to be great. It's the only place to play in Northern Michigan. The next nearest room is well over 100 miles away.
Unfortunately poor game offerings, limited hours mediocre dealers, and promotions that don't make sense are really holding it back. They only spread a $2/$5 game and are lucky to get 2 tables going. The players in the game are all the same. The lack of a low stakes game is limiting their player pool.
The game is hand shuffled which is generally okay, the dealers are pretty efficient at hand shuffling however the deck is counted down every dealer change slowing down the game.
They only have a bad beat jackpot as a promotion which is stupid with only 1 or 2 tables running and only open 27 hrs/wk. it literally takes 4-5 YEARS for the jackpot to hit.
I'll continue to play there while in Northern Michigan but if Turtle Creek reopened a room or someone opened a charity room this place would be dead.
I wrote them a letter with all of this and didn't get a response so apparently they don't care and I don't expect anything to change.
