i played at pensacola greyhound track on vacation a couple weeks ago.
i believe they also have 2/5 nlhe and a couple table games, if thats your thing. i thought it was a very relaxing and friendly environment. they have a food bar with a ton of options, which is a nice change of pace if youre used to the casino bar as i am. it was pretty evident i was not in a casino when i noticed people using ipads and phones at the table which i truly did not mind as the dealer kept the action moving. i would definitely recommend this location for nlhe, i actually wish they had more non casino poker rooms where im located. it is a non smoking facility, but its not a far trip to have one, also they have chip runners which save a bit of a hassle. i went during the daytime on a weekday, so the average age was a bit older, but very good people, dealers too. something they do there that i really enjoyed was before 2pm, they give cash out to very strong hands. to be honest i forget exactly what qualifies, but i know i won with a fullhouse which they would have paid me 25 dollars for winning with, but it was ten minutes after 2pm. overall nothing special, but a very efficient and relaxing place to play cards and kill a few hours.
