This unfortunately is my go to poker room simply due to proximity and location to where I live. The room was much better before COVID, however after COVID the room has gone to @#$% due to poor management. Most of the dealers are really good and I like them, they are not the problem. I have played in almost every poker room in America and this is by far the worst ran, managed room I have ever been to. They remodeled only to decrease the amount of tables by 2, they no longer offer call-ins, hence on the weekend if you don't get there before 6pm you're waiting 2 hours (insane there is no list) there or no promotions besides a bad beat, a buck an hour for food and no tournaments. They literally couldn't care less about the regular poker players from the area that feed the game. Due to this several home games offer much better action and accommodations; however with a larger rake - mind you Riverwind takes 10% up to 7 bucks out of every pot, along with the small blind preflop regardless if there is a flop - greedy bastards. I know they don't care what their player pool thinks, else they would change things to try to make the experience better and more enjoyable overall - but nope. Employees, dealers and chip runner are good people, they have no control over how the room is run. This is by far one of the worst run poker room I have ever been to - and that says a lot. Competition is easy, lots of bad players hence it's easily to have high win rate at 1/2 or 1/3 if you play good, sound GTO poker, which is the only reason I keep coming back. The buy in structure sucks - 200max at a 1/2, which would be fine if they would allow some games to be match the stack or similar, however your at a distinct disadvantage to big stacks that have been playing all day. Also this is the only room that I have ever been to that if you transfer tables to the same type of game (1/2), they force you to go back down to a starting stack of 100 big blinds or less - which is essentially allowing players to get over on the game and take money off the table - it's @#$% ridiculous. Do they care? NO. I think they are literally trying to turn players away and do away with the poker room altogether as they would rather have the space for slots. The recent remodel was pointless, they made the tables worse by taking away charging stations, took out 2 tables in order to put in horse racing terminals that never has anyone at them. They blame Poker Altas for not having call-ins because they are going to a new system other then Bravo - but it's just a @#$% excuse for some lazy @#$% not doing their job are giving a @#$% about customer service. Overall 1 star room with good dealers.
