Suncoast Details

The Suncoast Casino and Resort in Las Vegas boasts a medium-sized poker room with around 10 tables of diverse action. The cash-game variation here is quite strong, as The Suncoast spreads limit hold’em, no-limit hold’em, spread-limit seven-card stud and stud eight-or-better at low stakes. The max rake is $3 in all cash games at this venue. Given that the resort is some distance from the Las Vegas Strip, it mainly caters to local players.

The Suncoast poker room weaves through the back of the casino in an L shape. The area is advertised to passing players by a very large lighted “poker room” at its entrance. The tables are packed together quite closely on top of a leopard-print carpet, with orange-backed swivel chairs for players not too dissimilar to high-end office furniture. Blocks of lighting and mounted lamps on the lemony walls illuminate the action. Those lamps also draw the eye toward wall-mounted TV screens, which broadcast televised poker, sports, and news throughout the day.

This non-smoking poker room rewards players with comps at the rate of $1.25 per hour, which is slightly above the rate found at many venues of this size. In addition to this, The Suncoast offer poker players a 20% discount on accommodation on the condition that the guest plays for at least 4 hours per day through the duration of their stay. The poker room is served by waitresses who take orders for cocktails and tableside food service. Comps can be swapped for these services or banked for use with any other food vendor within the property. Regular promotions include a seasonal freeroll, NFL prediction competitions and high hand jackpots

The Suncoast closed its poker room in April, 2018
