Went up to Texas Station to eat and ended up with some time to kill so I decided to sit in and play a little poker and run up some comp points. I was hoping it wasn't going to be a disaster. It's a small room and doesn't seem like it's a real focal point at all for the casino.
I did manage to get into a game but honestly there's not a lot of action there. The competition there was average at best. There were a couple of ok players there but certainly not challenging.
I will say on the positive side the staff was great. They do recognize the room for what it is and really did their best to make sure you had a good time. The comp program ties into all the Station Casinos and it's a pretty good one so that is nice.
Food and beverage choices are pretty good and the wait staff treated me well. There's a lot of good places to eat near the room too so you won't be lacking in that department. Starbucks there too!
If you go, I'd probably recommend inviting a few buddies to help boost the game up. It's not somewhere I'd go all the time but if you're on the north side, you'll be fine.
