What was once the pinnacle of action in San Antonio for many years Formerly known as Rounders card club has now been papered over with an unrecognizable corporate scheme known as the lodge. Upon my visit the other day the energy in the room was just not what it once was.
While the new owners may be under the assumption they have the players best interest at heart, the sentiment shows otherwise. The capping of 1/2 to $300 & capping bets on bomb pots will prove detrimental to the longevity of this Operation. This is San Antonio, we do things different than the rest of the state & country. People here generally don't take kindly to out of towner's coming in and trying to change what made this community thrive for several years.
As a cash game reg I get to hear a lot of opinions from the player pool and the word on the street is the lodge may have bit off more than they can chew. The inability to recognize the local poker community & ecosystem will prove -EV to the new owners.
The balls in your court Doug. I hope you make the required changes to revert your club to its former glory, if not it will be another page in the history book of card rooms in this town that came and went.

Hi MIZELLSELLS, thanks for your review. We are committed to the long run in San Antonio and will do what is necessary to serve the players in this community.
Before coming on, we got a lot of requests from SA players for a capped $1/$2 game and, given that there was no capped option in the entire city, we chose to provide one. We wanted to create an ecosystem where players who want caps can play $1/$2 and players who want deep stacks can play $1/$3.
But $1/$3 needs to be running regularly for that to work. We are implementing promotions and initiatives to make $1/$3 run more often. We will see how that goes and reevaluate if necessary.
Rest assured, we understand and agree that there must be a deep stacked option at the club.
