A player told me about Fort McDowell Poker Room "Aces Cracked" promotion, so I thought I would check it out. I was impressed that for a small poker room (10 tables) they were Big on 'friendly' There are many regulars, and they pack the room on Friday and Saturday night...standing room only. They had 2 live games going, both were Hold-Em 4-8 limit. If you get a Player's Club card, you are eligible for all the promotions. I got in one of the games and found out there was an Arizona D-Backs game starting, If the Home team hits any Home Run, they will splash the pot with $100. Also, if you get pocket Aces cracked, you get $100. but after 3 hours of play, you get $300. ! I bought in for a rack, and was up $30 right off the bat, I cracked one of the regulars' Aces and he got $300 ! The baseball game started and I wasn't catching cards, was down about $40. and in the 4th inning BAM, D-Backs hit a home run and we had a splash pot. I had a draw but missed, a pair of Jacks took down a pot over $200. They add $50. for each additional Home Run, and the same inning another Home Run, now a $150. splash pot. I was dealt pocket 5's and flopped a set, bet all the way and it held up...the pot was huge, lots of action. A few hands later, I stacked my chips, and I'm sitting at $480. in a 4-8 game! There was another Home Run and a $200 splash pot the next inning. The dealers were friendly, waitress was very friendly, they have a poker player's ONLY food menu that is very reasonable, Huge Burger & fries for 3 bucks! They had 88 players for a tournament, first place was over $1200. I never got pocket Aces, but cracked them 3 times to the other player's delight, and I ended up cashing out $617. Gotta love Fort McDowell !
