The decor and atmoshpere is top notch. The room is somewhat small and slightly crouded. The TV's are way to high to be of much use. The tables are nice and the chairs are comfy; in fact the chairs almost force good posture.
I am sure that it depends on the table... but after spending 16 straight hours in the same seat, I would have to say that the players are average. You will get a mix of older locals playing relatively tight and younger players playing a bit more aggressive. The "regulars" regularly made comments about the young guys play.
My favorite was when I watched a kid(~$1500) go all in in first position, when the flopped showed A7K. He got one caller (~$200), then the old local calls (~$1500). After everyone flipped, the kid shows AA, the second caller shows KK and the local showed QK. The local started @#$% that he never saw the initial better's cards. The local had played at the table almost as long as I did and often made some pretty insane moves, in fact I dont think that I ever lost a showdown to him. Anyway, he stormed out cursing the "brats" at the table. Be sure to always ask before you call.
I managed to turn $250 into $1800 at the wynn 2-5 game. Daniel N. and Barry Greenstien were playing thier 500k headsup match right behind me. The wynn did a good job at keeping the Fan level down, though a couple of times about 15 girls ran in to see Daniel.
The dealers were mostly good professional dealers. Though they had a couple of goof offs. One guy was trying to deal the entire table in less than 3 seconds. He managed to do this twice, but screwed up alot of cards every other time he tried it.
I found my favorite excalliber dealer had moved to the wynn. She is a black female that always smiles.
If I were rating the cocktail service for the day, it would be great. But once it got a little late and crowded, the service got pretty bad. Hard to get a drink more often that every 30 minutes. Though the girls were plenty hot.
Management was average. Early on in the day, I asked the floor for a table change 3 different times. Also, I need to mention that you only have less than a minute to get to the desk when your name is called (even if you are at a table-which they should have known). I had to jump out of a live hand in order to move up to the 2-5 game early in the day.
One dollar a minute, with the 4AM cutoff. So an easy way to make comps is to play early in the morning, then come back at 4am to swipe out.
