The room is very nice; burgandy table felt thats easy on the eyes, very comfortable chairs with swivel, tilt adjustment and are on wheels. The tables are large (and because they do not have coasters and drink tables are not easily accessible, the table have to be big enough to hold drinks.) I found the tables to be well spread apart, with the exception of a few seats, but while I was there the room was never full so getting around was very easy.
I'm not an interior decorator so I can not describe the look as well as the editor, but I did enjoy the look of the room.
No real complaints, except that outside the poker room were little to no ashtrays for smokers (as mentioned by the editor), but second hand smoke still finds a way to enter through the open and exposed room. Even though ashtrays are not easy to find, the main entrance is close enough to enjoy smokers fresh air, mixed in with actual fresh air.
I found the tables to be a good mix of casual players with a few local grinders - depending on the time of day. Also, becuase drinks are easy to get (see cocktail rating) the chance of getting some intoxicated players that will donate is pretty good. I played 1/3, 2/5, and 5/10NLHE and the mix was pretty even on all games played.
Dealers all seemed experienced. With the exception of one time, all dealers asked players for thier MGM player cards when the player was new to the table, or even when there was a dealer change - the dealer would say hi to all players and ask those signed in as guests in thier comp machine if they had a card, and sometimes if they wanted to sign up.
They all had good personalities but it would never get in the way of keeping the game flowing. There was one instance where a drunk player was being very rude and the dealer did not want to get involved.
Servers were alll very good looking and were very quick in bringing drinks. My order got messed up once when I asked for a refill on my drink (suger-free redbull/vodka, I was brought regular redbull). Initial orders were always correct, and premium alcohol is served including redbull.
With thier computer system the player list was organizes and I was always seated quickly. Also, when playing 5 handed or less, they never hesitated to reduce or remove the rake.
When I was there, they were offering $2 per hour in comps and $3 per hour during 5am and 10am. This is higher than Bellagio at $1/hour unless you're playing a higher limit game. The only complaint is that you have to get the poker room comp sheet from the poker room before heading to a restaraunt which they didn't tell me. That caused some annoyance when I walked to the buffet, told to go to a comp room beside the cashier downstairs, and from there told to go back to the poker room.
