I ate a later dinner downtown and then headed to the Bike at about 10pm on a Wednesday night. The place seemed lifeless despite several games going on. It doesn't help that the layout make it feel like a bingo parlor and lighting is harsh enough that you can see every flaw on the carpets and walls and tables.
Despite standing near the board the guy filling the games must have taken me for a passer by because he helped people first that walked up after me. I had to speak up to get into a game. The lethargy of it seemed to be contagious.
I played the 3-5 NL and bought in for $300. It took me about 90 minutes to double my initial stake and I was happy to leave after that. This should and could be a better room with some attention to detail.
