Played in a tournament a few months ago. I was in seat 6, the closest seat to where the dealer was keeping the pots. On the flop with one other player in the hand, I bet 1100, but my dropping motion caused the 100 chip to bounce off the 1000 chip and towards the pot. I don't know if the dealer saw what happened but he declared my bet was 1000. I corrected him saying what happened, and he said "You threw the chip in the pot and therefore you have surrendered that chip." I asked Reddit and they said I should've called floor because this is not the ruling, but I didn't want to make a big deal over a single 100 tournament chip. Opponent folded to my "1000" bet anyways. Other than that, I had a good time, will likely make the one hour drive again.
