Stayed at the Excalibur last Monday, played in both the 9am and 1pm $45 tournament. The 9am had the biggest turnout, with about 40 players, top six getting the money. Pretty loose game, multiple players seeing the flop. Ended up finishing sixth at the 9am. Chairs were fairly comfortable, drink service was very good, staff was friendly. One complaint I have was just one particular dealer. He did things differently from the four previous dealers like if you didn't say raise before your chips crossed the line, it was only a call. I understand that it is to protect the other players, but it really should be consistent with all the dealers. Still a super nice guy, just need a little more consistency.
I also kept an eye on the cash games. 1/2 game played the whole time we were there. Most definitely a couple sharks at the table preying on tourists. The 2/6 spread game ran from around noon until late in the night. I got on the waiting list after I busted the 1pm tourney, was third in line. Waited for 2/12 hours and only moved up one spot. With 7 people on the waiting list, I felt like they should have started a new table, but apparently a dealer had called in sick, so they didn't have enough staff.
Overall a pretty good experience. I would definitely play here again.
