Beautiful tables and great lighting. When full, it is a little tough to manouever around the tables (and the pillars), but that is a minor inconvenience.
combination of good local players and tourists looking to gamble. I was there during the National Finals Rodeo and had a lot of fun playing against all the cowboys.
Some VERY good dealers and a couple of average ones. Most tables had auto-shufflers and the management tried to fill those tables first.
Average looking waitresses, but not bad. Service was reasonably quick.
Wait time was neglible - usually could walk in and take a seat immediately. Management seemed knowledgable and courteous.
Don't know how most other poker room comps compare, but all youhad to do at the Nugget was play 4 hours (no clocking - pretty much on the honor system) and get $10 credit for the buffet, coffee shop or deli. High hand jackpots for every hand from quad 2's and up. Each hand has a separate jackpot and is reset after it is hit. I hit quad deuces and won $135 - not bad. WARNING: because of the quad jackpots, most players will play almost any pocket pair, even to a small raise.
