Far better room than Aurora or Joliet which are the other options in the immediate area. Place is clean, mgmt staff is friendly and with so many regulars, you don't get a lot of discrepancies. Quality of dealers is inconsistent with some very good and others...not so much. The 5/10 guys have enough pull to demand which dealers can work that game so the lower limits tend to skew towards the lower quality.
Almost always have multiple 2/5 tables and the 5/10 game runs 3-5 times/week. Both are chock-full of regs and that tends to keep the game talkative and fun. Recently added promos are a positive and as a result, daytime lower limit games in particular are tighter as guys tend to sit and hope they hit it.
Yes, the rake is ridiculously high and the banning of phones stinks. But that's an Illinois rule, not the casinos fault. If you want to avoid that and don't mind fighting traffic, the Shoe in Hammond is clearly better. But this is a nice back-up place to play.
