First off, considering this is the first in Toronto and will be the flagship of this company, they did a pathetic job at creating an atmosphere. The casino is segregated, it's boring, hasn't art or ambience, nothing to instill a feeling of entertainment.
Secondly, a single draft beer is $18. Can't tell you the rest as I'll never pay that price again. Ina casino, the place you want patrons drinking and gambling you charge 18 dollars a beer. That's robbery. That's what you pay at a leafs game! Different business model people, why do you think Vegas comps drinks and gives for free???
Thirdly the poker room is drab. Open concept, the houseman was unknowledgeable and frankly rude and anti social. I wanted to know the house rules here, the nuances that may be different and they couldn't even tell me the rake accurately. It's like they gave 0 care at all and on top didn't want to be there.
The dealers didn't seem to be putting in effort and lastly the rake. What a rip off. 10% up to $20 in a 1/3 nlh game with 0 comps, 0 incentives, 0 bonus or bad beat or high hands... absolutely 0. I can't believe it. Drove here from barrie while I was visiting from alberta as I was excited to hear and see the woodbine expansion and this experience is easily the worst I've ever had at any casino or poker room I've visited anywhere in the world.... and I have spent 20 years in the gaming industry as a dealer/housemen/manager and done professional poker reporting throughout my life. I hope another entity opens in Toronto to force change on this money grubbing cash cow location.
