The cash game action here is great and during their annual event it's even better. If you're a serious player it's worth the drive, especially on the weekends. You will get good action from mediocre players.
I played a few of the Hollywood Poker Open events. It's a good series even if the overall prizes are on the small side. There are no guarantees, which hurts the turnout, I feel.
While the dealers are very friendly, most of them are very sloppy poker dealers. I suspect because the year round poker room is so small with usually one or two tables going, that these dealers spend most of their time dealing blackjack, etc. Way too many times they did not know mis-deal rules, dealt cards off table or other misdeal events, and were not "dialed in" to raises, action, winning hands, etc. All of this points to training so you can't really blame the dealers themselves.
The restaurants in the casino are good but in my experience provide extremely slow service. Which is frustrating if you're on a 30 minute break.
Overall it's a good place to play and I will go back again, and will probably play their main series again next year.
