Some new comments as compared to my last review. They now offer 100 dollar tournaments on Sunday which I like. Unfortunately Friday has turned into a 300 dollar tournament with a horribly structured satellite earlier in the day. I wish they still offered the usual 65 dollar afternoon tournament.
Every other poker room closed down which was inevitable. Southland and Hollywood were an absolute disaster towards the end. I wish Southland reopened with a real poker room as opposed to electronic but they have completed an expensive remodel with no poker room so I doubt one will emerge.
This is a legit poker room where you will find at least 1-3 NL table running at any time. Tournaments typically have at least 30 players, usually more and the structures are reasonable, blinds do not go up too fast.
Things that would improve the room: Take your own drinks like Hollywood had. Horseshoe used to have free coffee you could make but they got rid of it.
The limit game is spotty and only runs occasionally. This isn’t the room’s fault as it is just not in demand. But if you specifically plan a trip to play 4-8 limit, you might be disappointed. Also wish they offered 3-6 limit instead. It might draw some more beginners.
Management is very professional and makes fair and solid rulings when called upon. I haven’t seen regulars get preferential treatment like at some other rooms.
Overall, I’m not going to complain much as I desperately hope this poker room stays in operation for as long as possible. We need it badly.
