Biggest tournament guaranteed in Houston.
From managers, dealers, to hostesses, this place by far is the best club I've played at. I usually play at P (cash) or L (tournament) but since this club opened, I have played here exclusively. Their tournament buy in and rebuy structure is unique and elicits some wild plays from people that would otherwise play conservative.
At P, parking lot is too small, the food sucks. The dealers that also play there are always talking non-stop even when players ask them to talk less and deal more. Playing action is decent, but the players do gamble on draws.
At L, parking lot is also too small, the food is ok, but the owners are fast talking and do some slight of hand math to their advantage. $14/hr to play ask for 2 hrs they round it up to $30 instead of $28. It's only $2 but doing this to everyone that comes through the doors adds up. It's just dishonest. I've been noticing some odd things happening but unsure. A guy comes to a table with a load of chips and some chip denominations that were not even out yet. Makes no sense, all the players at the table didn't see him around the tables, and he just comes from outside to sit down with a load of chips. We were questioning where he was sitting prior didn't give us an straight answer and how come some of his chips denominations were not even out yet but he has them. The floor manager just blew it off as nothing when we called him over. My suspicion is this guy was playing for the house or was just cheating by pocketing high value chips from previous tournaments.
So far my experience at 52 has been great. The food has been better than the other two clubs. The tournament guarantees are the largest in town. Their tournament buy in and rebuy structure is different not what I've been used to, but it elicits a lot of action and rebuys. Some players knew the structure and buy in anyway to complain non-stop about it while playing. Wasting valuable time during the small blind rounds.
