M Resort Details
The M Resort poker room is closed. However, the M Resort will play host to the Heartland Poker Tour some time in 2012.
The M Resort in Las Vegas previously offered more than 10 tables of action to Henderson’s poker community. This section of the property was near to the sportsbook, not far from the parking lot. The venue’s poker room closed permanently in August 2013 to make room for a new slots tournament area. An M Resort statement explained that slots players had demanded the change. M Resort continues to be the venue for the Hollywood Poker Classic Las Vegas — a tournament series guaranteeing more than $100,000 in prize money. When running, the M Resort poker room was noted as a small venue with a Chinese design. The entire room was a vision of charcoal, yellow, and white. All of these colors combined in the rectangular-tiled floor, with bamboo lampshades beaming light in from above. In the absence of dark blocks of color, the poker room was very bright and airy. The tables (equipped with automatic shufflers) were set with padded beige seats. The game offering at the M Resort poker room was based around no-limit hold’em and limit hold’em cash games, plus regular tournaments. The M Resort recruitment process tended to hire poker dealers with especially friendly natures, edging towards “dealertainers” rather than intensely-focused poker experts. In-game promotions were offered to attract players, including the usual high-hand jackpots and progressive bad-beat jackpot. Players also earned comps at the rate of $3 per hour during cash games. These gains could be banked and traded for at-table food delivery, meals in M Resort restaurants, cocktails and other services. The M Resort poker room also provided loyalty bonuses to players who racked up enough play during a calendar month. “Gift Days” were promoted throughout the month to provide a similar rewards system.
