Not sure about the two bad reviews here, I love this room.
I broke into live poker here shortly after turning 21. Spent many sessions getting felted before I started putting together winning sessions, but the staff and regulars made it an enjoyable experience.
All the dealers are great. I saw one review about constant mistakes and can definitely say that's far from the case. Sure they make mistakes from time to time, but in all the hours I've spent in many rooms across the country I can say I've never met a dealer who hasn't made a mistake. The floor here is very knowledgeable and will not hesitate to ensure the proper decision is made should they be called on.
It's primarily a cash room (which is the case in almost all Colorado poker rooms). They do run weekend tournaments with great structure (although the rake can be a bit high). There are a lot of regulars but I personally don't mind that in a small room. Whenever I'd spend a month or two away playing cards in Blackhawk, coming back to play at "the Rose" always felt like I was walking into Cheers.
If you're looking for a great room that's away from the casino floor, I'd highly recommend the trip up to Cripple Creek for this place. The view alone will be worth it.
