An honest review of my experience at Mint Poker as a grinder; not meant to be a review of slander but a review of integrity.
Visited on roughly 6 different occasions.
Games can be good but it's expensive to pay $15 a hour in 2 hour minimum increments. If you come in the morning with the golden girls crew you're not gonna be making any money whatsoever. Best time to go would be in the afternoon at the very least. If you play omaha you have a better chance of getting into a good game in the afternoons. Food is not great, probably all frozen. If you like to drink then perhaps the $15 a hour is more worth it to you. However if you are a serious grinder it can really hinder your profits especially if you're playing 1/3. Games also feel like straight business. There is no home game vibe whatsoever; in all of my visits players were just focused on the game and everything was just straight business, kinda like a casino. No one is there to have any fun they're just all zombies. There are good dealers but there are also some rude dealers that seem to be tired of the place. The place is nice but there is not enough value to step back in compared to the competition. Promo is $60 for 5 hours which is offering the same competition rate but with a 5 hour commitment. Management is pretty professional but there was a mishap that was somewhat questionable. I had to sit out a good 20 minutes due to a discrepancy in the pot that I had just won. Another player believed I may have grabbed a stack that was his chips while scooping in my own. To clear this up I happily sat out until they reviewed the cameras. When everything checked out and the player was mistaken all was well, however I sat out for a good 20 minutes and got no time added. My time wasn't paused. When questioned about this management just laughed it off like I was joking. Other than that incident management was pretty professional.
I don't want to write where I play to keep things professional but definitely do your research on the value of games around town.
