A bit underwhelmed, but not bad.

I became a monthly member for $50 (expensive, but it was $80 a month!) and played their first $90 + $10 tournament about a month ago. The starting stack is 15 k - with the $10 netting you an extra 5k for a total of 20k - with 15 min blind levels for the first 2 hrs, then the blind levels increase to 20 mins thereafter. With such a pricey $50 monthly membership, you would expect a better tournament structure - especially since the place is owned by a guy made famous by winning the biggest tournament of them all! I was told the structure would get better (more starting chips) but that hasn't happened yet after a month of being open. Btw sorry for no paragraphs but PokerAtlas isn't letting me make them. Anyway, onto the other features of the place: The tables and chips are decent, the chairs are red and luxurious, and the dealers are very good. If you play cash games, it's $14 an hour - extremely pricey, but I don't play cash so that doesn't affect me. One other thing that bothered me was that they don't have a cooler or such where you can get your own soda - you have to ask a waiter or bartender to get your drink. I don't like that because you're already paying a jacked-up membership as it is, you shouldn't feel like you have to tip just to get a soda. They have armed security at the doors to make sure no undesirables wander into the place. One more thing I forgot to mention, until the kitchen is open they've been getting take-out every night. When I was there they bought Dominos pizza. Quite nice. Overall, this is not a bad place to play, it's just that I was just expecting the tournament structure to be better and will become a member again when it does.
