Played the $160 buy-in $3K GTD at Resort World yesterday for the first time, and it was a very positive experience! There were about 33 players but it was a mid-week event. The rake is less than 20% which is excellent by Vegas standards for a lower buy-in tournament.
The ambiance of the poker room is very nice; however, there was some construction noise initially but I'm sure that's temporary. The poker room chairs are very comfortable and adjustable. We played 9 handed but there was plenty of space around the table. The dealers were friendly and efficient, and the tournament director (TD) was very professional. The TD was helpful (twice) in facilitating an equity chop for the final players. There was regular and on going drink service, I just had water so I can't tell you about other drink options.
The self parking is free and a short walk to the casino. There is a self service kiosk near the entrance where you can obtain a player's card. It was pretty intuitive to use.
There is a Starbucks a short distance from the poker room with food items and there are other restaurants too but I didn't try them. There are several restrooms/toilets nearby the poker room.
