Needs Improvement

Pros: Great free parking. Poker room very near to the parking structure. Great room, new, bright, nice tables and comfortable chairs. Dealers are friendly and very interactive with players. Good hourly comps that can actually be redeemed. Good food service. Probably the best low entry fee structure inn Vegas, a lot of playability for $200 and a 5K guarantee. Other floor staff are polite and friendly.
Cons: Very slow for such a nice room. RW need to be creative in attracting more players for live and tournaments. Struggles to get full table daily but usually gets two or three going before end of rebuys. Cocktails servers are never really happy, and irregular with the service, maybe because they are not getting the volume of players. Many times you find the cashiers in the back room and stand waiting for someone to come out. Similarly the floor staff are somewhat lethargic and not energized or seem happy to be there. The worst etiquette IMHO is when you cash in a tournament the payouts are made at the table in front of the dealer. And as a player you are asked then and there if you would like to tip the dealer and explained that all tips are shared Omani the dealers. This is really bad practice and one recipient expressed that it was like being pressured to give part of his winnings. I agree, tips are at the discretion of the winner. At the Aria all payouts are at the cashier window without the shaming process. The Resorts World charges a $15 dealer fee as part of the buy-in. As a player you don't get that back if you bust, correct?
Enough on tournaments, the live game action is usually with the RW tourists and is pretty good for the low level spreads, but beware of the drunks. Also, a number of RW play at the tourneys and games.
I think that this room could be one of the best in the city, it just needs tweaking a little with how and what they promote and staff training with etiquette. I am sure it is a stand alone profit center, I am curious why the GM would just accept mediocre.
Having said all this I will still return for both live and tournaments in the future with the hope that change is inevitable at some point.
