Convention center full of 200+ tables, bad lighting and loud. The table I sat at had this huge logo of the WSOP on it that was all frayed and nasty looking. I was in one of the satellites though so I can see that it might not have been the best table.
The chairs were awful which is surprising considering how long players sit at the real events. The dealers all carried cushions because of the poor chairs.
Duh, it was the WSOP. There were two kinds of players there, those like me who wanted to play in a WSOP event, even if it was only a satellite, and those that wanted to win seat and save a few bucks.
Satellite dealers were inexperience and frequently made mistakes including back to back misdeals on one occasion. Kept dealing in a player's girlfriend who was sweating him, declared the wrong winner a couple of times and were generally intimidated by the players. I assume that the dealers were those that were too new or not good enough to deal the events.
Not too bad, not too frequent but friendly.
There were alot of chiefs and not alot of indians, the management seemed focused on cash games, but competent.
If you sign up for the Harrah's comp card you get a book of rotton coupons, but a free program which is nice and 10% off all the logo merchandise.
Full tilt poker had a suite that was open to the public and they were giving away t-shirts and hats. All in all, lots of freebies or cheapies from everyone, although not from the Rio directly.
