Ms. gamboolgal and I are taking a Oklahoma road trip during Dec/Jan. We work/live overseas and only get to come home once or twice per year and we enjoy getting in the car and taking road trips.
We play for fun and while we like to win, the main thing for us is to have fun playing poker.....if we dust off a few buy ins......thats ok as we are vacation and we come to play and drink and have fun playing the pokerzzzzzzz
We arrived to the Riverwind Casino in Norman on a Tue afternoon and check in was very good, a nice room in the Hotel, Bell Hops to carry all the stuff - as the days of us traveling light ended decades ago.....
Got to Poker Room mid afternoon and there were three 1/2 games,
one 2/5, and 2 PLO games going.
Room is nonsmoking but if you smoke you can go outside the room and burn on.
Room has doors and is not smoky at all. Room is quiet and has big TV screens all over.
Tables are well lit and plenty of room between tables. Tables are 9 handed. Tables have auto shufflers, chairs were fine, plenty of little tables for food and drink
We played 1/2, has a max buy in of $200. Action was great, dealers were good, floor was very good. Room has Bravo and allows call ins.
Played afew hours, then took break to go and set $$ on fire at the Slots - but Ms. gamboolgal likes to play them.......so......
Then back to the pokerzzzzz and we played until about 0200 hrs and the action was great...lots of gambooooling......and bluffing......lots of good natured banter and lots of drinkin....& not thinkin.......
Drink Service was good, also have menu to order from in the Poker Room - we saw several people get food and it looked very good.
$1 per hour for food comps with the Riverwind Card
Casino has Food Court and area for eating - nice and clean.
Would recommend you try them out.
