I opted for the 5 star rating due to the friendliness and professionalism of the management and staff as a whole. As well as the attention to safety protocols during covid.
Competition 4/5
There are enough fish during peak hours to sustain an excellent win rate. Action is a little slower mid day on weekdays than I'm accustomed to coming from a larger casino but they make up for it with great night time action. The one down side is like much of Austin this is only 1-2 and 1-2-5. thankfully games play deep in Texas but if you are looking for something higher like a 5-5 or 5-10 game you aren't as likely to find it in Austin as you are in Houston
Promos and comps 4/5
They're hourly works out to a competitive 10.43 an hour after the time promos and they also do freerolls multiple times a week which is nice. They don't do any high hand or bad beat. Because these games aren't raked it is harder for rooms to run effective promos and even the rooms that do high hands often offer up 500 or less. I am comparing shuffle to the rest of Austin's poker rooms with 4/5 rating.
Dealers 4/5
A mix of experienced and more novice dealers who as a whole are very good. Some of my issues come down to Texas rooms having more of a "loose" feel more alike a home game at times than a larger casino. If you don't have any issue with this atmosphere you will be right at home in Texas ;)
Food and drink 5/5
It is bring your own food an alcohol. Which personally I love. Want to loosen up the game? Buy the table a cheap case of beer lol
Management 5/5
Room is small (12 tables?) And you can tell the room's main focus is on customer service. They know every player by first name and in general do a very good job with house rules and rulings. Many of the floors come from other larger casinos and even have industry related degrees. Lots of experience.
