We are a retired couple from Florida and decided to spend 2 1/2 months in Texas this winter, primarily to check out the Texas poker scene. After doing some research we picked out 4 different rooms to try out. Not going to name the other 3, but hands down we enjoyed playing at The Lodge the best and therefore spent the majority of our poker sessions there. Overall, as in most places the poker rooms in Texas are primarily comprised of male players, so my wife was a little apprehensive about playing at first. However, on our very first trip to the Lodge the staff was so friendly and helpful that she felt comfortable almost immediately. Now, this is one of her all-time favorite poker rooms. We would specifically like to commend the front desk staff, especially Tracey, Kendra and Floyd. By our second visit they had already remembered our names and immediately checked us in even before we could get to the desk. If you enjoy playing "real poker", without all the "high hand, bad beat, bingo jackpot promotions", and challenge yourseif against serious poker players we absolutely recommend a visit to The Lodge Card Club in Round Rock TX.
